A Faysal Bank car calculator estimates your monthly installment from the car price, your down payment, the bank’s rate and the tenure. Enter those four values above and you get the installment, the total you will pay and the total profit. Faysal Bank offers car finance as Faysal Islami Car Finance, which it describes as Shariah-compliant, so the bank calls the monthly amount a rental rather than loan interest.

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the car price in rupees. Use the on-road price if the bank finances it. [CHECK: which price components Faysal finances]
  2. Enter your down payment as a percentage. The tool shows it in rupees too.
  3. Enter the annual rate the bank quotes you. [CHECK: current Faysal Islami Car Finance rate]
  4. Pick a tenure from the list, or choose custom months.
  5. Press Calculate installment.

The result shows your monthly installment first. Below it you see the amount financed, the total of all installments, the profit paid to the bank and the full cost including your down payment.

How it works

The calculator uses the standard reducing-balance formula. Each month you pay the same amount. Early installments carry more profit. Later ones repay more of the principal.

In plain words:

  • Financed amount = car price minus down payment.
  • Monthly rate = annual rate divided by 12, then divided by 100.
  • Installment = financed amount × monthly rate, divided by (1 minus (1 + monthly rate) raised to the power of minus the number of months).
  • If the rate is zero, the installment is the financed amount divided by the number of months.

Islamic car finance is not a loan with interest. Faysal’s own page says the customer’s ownership grows with every installment paid. The bank sets the rental using its own method. [CHECK: how Faysal calculates rental, for example a benchmark plus a spread] This tool uses a standard formula, so it gives an estimate. Your offer letter is the final figure.

Worked example

Say you want a car priced at Rs 4,000,000. You pay 30 percent down. The rate is 12 percent a year over 60 months. These numbers are for illustration only. They are not a Faysal Bank offer.

  • Down payment: 30% of 4,000,000 = Rs 1,200,000.
  • Amount financed: Rs 2,800,000.
  • Monthly rate: 12 ÷ 12 ÷ 100 = 0.01.
  • Installment: 2,800,000 × 0.01 ÷ (1 − 1.01−60) ≈ Rs 62,284.
  • Total of 60 installments: about Rs 3,737,066.
  • Total profit: about Rs 937,066.
  • Total cost with down payment: about Rs 4,937,066.

So a Rs 4 million car costs nearly Rs 4.94 million over five years at that rate.

Reference table

The table shows the monthly installment per Rs 1,000,000 financed at a 12 percent annual rate. It is an illustration of the formula, not a Faysal Bank rate.

TenureMonthly installment (approx.)Total profit (approx.)
1 yearRs 88,849Rs 66,185
3 yearsRs 33,214Rs 195,716
5 yearsRs 22,244Rs 334,666

Longer tenure lowers the monthly amount. It also raises the total profit you pay.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Using an old rate. Bank rates move. Always ask for the current quote.
  • Forgetting extra costs. Insurance or takaful, tracker, registration and other charges are not in the result. [CHECK: Faysal’s current charges]
  • Looking only at the installment. A longer tenure feels cheaper each month but costs more overall.
  • Stretching the budget. Keep the installment well within your monthly income after other bills.
  • Skipping a bigger down payment. Each extra rupee paid upfront reduces the financed amount and the profit.
  • Comparing only one bank. Try the same numbers on other banks. See the HBL car loan calculator, the UBL Islamic car finance calculator or the Bank Islami car loan calculator.
